$300 for eyebrow embroidery that lasts 1-2 years. That’s $12-25/month — less than the brow pencils and gels you’re buying to fill in your brows every single day.
The Korean philosophy
The Korean brow philosophy is “no one should be able to tell.” While Western microblading trends have moved toward bold, Instagram-worthy arches, Korean eyebrow embroidery aims for brows that look entirely natural — as if you were simply born with perfectly shaped, full brows. Finer strokes, subtler colors, and a focus on enhancing your existing brow shape rather than redesigning it.
The ritual
Brow consultation + shape mapping
20 minThe artist measures your facial proportions using the golden ratio and draws the brow shape with a removable pencil. You approve the shape before any blade touches skin. Korean artists prioritize your natural brow shape — enhancing, not replacing.
Color matching
10 minPigment is custom-mixed to match your natural brow hair color and skin undertone. Korean artists typically choose colors 1-2 shades lighter than what looks right initially, because the pigment darkens as it heals.
Numbing cream
15 minTopical anesthetic is applied to the brow area and left to take effect. The brow area is less sensitive than lips, so numbing is very effective. Most people feel only light scratching sensations.
Microblading strokes
30-40 minUsing ultra-fine Korean blades, the artist creates individual hair strokes following your natural growth pattern. Each stroke is placed with intention — varying angle, length, and thickness to mimic real hairs. The scratching sensation is mild with numbing.
Pigment saturation
15 minA second pass ensures pigment is fully deposited into each stroke. Additional pigment is pressed into the strokes to ensure even color retention during healing.
Aftercare review
10 minThe artist reviews your healed-result expectations (color will fade 30-40%), provides aftercare products, and schedules your touch-up appointment for 6-8 weeks later.
Your first time
The longest part is the mapping and approval process — your artist will draw, adjust, erase, and redraw until you’re completely happy with the shape. Take your time here; this is the most important step. After numbing, the actual blading feels like light scratching — most people describe it as a 2-3 out of 10 for discomfort. Your brows will look “too dark” and “too sharp” immediately after. This is completely normal. Over the next 5-7 days, the color will scab lightly and flake off, revealing softer, lighter strokes underneath. The true result appears at 4-6 weeks. A touch-up at 6-8 weeks perfects any areas where pigment didn’t retain evenly.
When to book
Book at least 8 weeks before a major event to allow for healing (7 days) + color settling (4-6 weeks) + touch-up session + touch-up healing. Avoid scheduling before vacations with swimming or heavy sweating. Don’t wax or thread brows for 1 week before. Avoid alcohol and blood thinners for 48 hours before.

East vs West
Korean eyebrow embroidery uses finer blades and subtler color choices, resulting in strokes that are nearly indistinguishable from real brow hairs. Western microblading trends often favor bolder, more defined results. Korean technicians undergo longer training programs with more emphasis on natural-looking technique. The Korean “no one can tell” philosophy produces fundamentally different results from the Western “I got my brows done” aesthetic.
Aftercare
Keep brows dry for 10 days — no sweating, swimming, or steam rooms. Apply the provided aftercare ointment 2-3 times daily. Don’t pick at scabs or flaking skin. Avoid sun exposure on the brow area for 2 weeks. Sleep on your back if possible to avoid rubbing the area.
