Western
$250 for a comprehensive dark circle treatment. You’ve spent more than that on eye creams that didn’t work. This actually addresses the root cause.
The Korean philosophy
Dark circles have multiple causes (vascular, pigmentary, structural), and no single treatment addresses all of them. Korean clinics approach dark circles with a diagnostic-first mindset, identifying the root cause before treatment. This prevents the common Western mistake of treating all dark circles the same way.
The ritual
Diagnostic assessment
10 minThe practitioner examines your dark circles under magnification and special lighting to determine the primary cause: vascular (blue/purple tones from visible blood vessels), pigmentary (brown from melanin), or structural (shadow from hollowing). Many people have a combination.
Primary treatment
20 minBased on diagnosis: gentle laser toning for vascular issues, a targeted brightening treatment for pigmentation, or hyaluronic acid micro-injection for hollowing. Numbing cream is applied if filler is used.
Supporting treatment
10 minLED therapy (red for healing, infrared for deep repair) and a specialized eye serum with peptides and caffeine maximize results. A cooling mask reduces any puffiness.
Your first time
The consultation portion is the most important part. The practitioner will ask you to look in different directions under bright light and magnification to diagnose your dark circle type. If the treatment involves laser, you’ll feel tiny warm pulses under your eyes. If filler, a numbing cream is applied first and you’ll feel pressure but minimal pain. The under-eye area is delicate, so practitioners move carefully and gently. Some mild swelling or redness is normal for 24-48 hours. The results — especially with filler — can be dramatic.
When to book
If filler is used, book at least 1 week before any event to allow bruising and swelling to resolve. For laser treatments, allow 2-4 sessions spaced 2-3 weeks apart. For best results, complete the recommended series and maintain with eye-specific skincare at home.

East vs West
Western clinics typically offer one solution: filler for hollowing or laser for pigmentation. Korean clinics diagnose the specific cause and combine multiple modalities in a single visit. The diagnostic-first approach means the right treatment is matched to the right cause, resulting in better outcomes.
Aftercare
If filler was used: avoid touching, pressing, or massaging the under-eye area for 48 hours. No heavy exercise for 24 hours. Sleep elevated on the first night to minimize swelling. For all treatments: use a gentle eye cream and SPF. Avoid retinol near the eye area for 3-5 days.
