Western
$200 for V-Beam that targets redness and broken capillaries precisely. That’s less than all those redness-reducing serums you’ve tried that didn’t work — because topicals can’t close blood vessels.
The Korean philosophy
Korean aesthetic medicine approaches vascular concerns with the same “consistent maintenance” philosophy as other treatments. Rather than one aggressive session, Korean clinics use V-Beam at moderate settings across multiple sessions, often combining it with LED therapy and calming protocols. The result is steady improvement without the bruising that aggressive Western protocols can cause.
The ritual
Cleansing
3 minA thorough cleanse removes all products so the laser energy hits clean skin evenly.
Assessment and calibration
3 minThe practitioner examines your redness patterns and broken capillaries, marking treatment areas and calibrating the laser settings for your skin type and concern severity.
Protective eyewear
1 minMetal eye shields or opaque goggles are placed. The pulsed dye laser light must not reach your eyes.
V-Beam laser treatment
10 minThe laser handpiece is placed against your skin and fired in short pulses. Each pulse feels like a warm rubber band snap. A built-in cooling system (cryogen spray) cools the skin microseconds before each pulse, minimizing discomfort. The practitioner targets visible vessels and areas of diffuse redness.
LED therapy
10 minYellow or red LED light is applied to the treated area. This reduces inflammation, speeds healing, and enhances the laser’s vascular effects. Korean clinics include this as standard; Western clinics often charge extra.
Calming cream + SPF
3 minA calming centella or arnica cream is applied to soothe treated skin, followed by mineral SPF.
Your first time
V-Beam is one of the more tolerable laser treatments. After cleansing, the practitioner holds the laser handpiece against your skin and you’ll feel a quick snap with each pulse — like a tiny rubber band — preceded by a cool spray (the built-in cooling system). It’s mildly uncomfortable but quick. The treatment takes only 10-15 minutes. Afterward, treated areas may be slightly swollen or pink. Some people develop mild bruising (purpura) that lasts 3-5 days, though modern V-Beam settings minimize this. The LED therapy afterward is completely painless and soothing. You can wear concealer the next day.
When to book
Book at least 7-10 days before any event due to potential bruising. A series of 3-5 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart delivers the best results for rosacea. Avoid scheduling after sun exposure or tanning. Morning appointments are ideal since slight swelling peaks in the first few hours.

East vs West
The V-Beam device is the same globally, but Korean clinics enhance the protocol by including LED therapy and calming treatments as standard. Korean clinics also tend to use slightly lower settings with more sessions, reducing bruising risk. The price difference is dramatic — up to 60% less for the same technology.
Aftercare
Avoid hot showers, alcohol, and exercise for 24-48 hours (all increase blood flow and can worsen swelling). If bruising occurs, arnica gel can help. SPF 50+ mandatory. Avoid retinol and acids for 3-5 days.
