$300/session for skin boosters every 3-4 months. That’s the cost of two months of high-end serums — except this actually reaches the dermis where serums can’t penetrate.
The Korean philosophy
Korean aesthetics believes the foundation of beauty is skin quality, not structure. Skin boosters address this directly — instead of filling wrinkles or lifting tissue, they improve the skin itself. Better hydration, better elasticity, better texture. When your skin is fundamentally healthier, you need less of everything else.
The ritual
Skin cleansing
5 minThe face is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected with antiseptic solution. Any surface bacteria could cause infection at injection sites, so this step is done with medical-grade precision.
Numbing cream
15 minA topical anesthetic is applied to the treatment areas and left for 15-20 minutes. The injections are shallow but numerous, so numbing makes the experience much more comfortable.
Micro-injection treatment
15 minUsing a fine needle, the practitioner delivers tiny deposits of Rejuran or Profhilo into the mid-dermis at precise points across the face. Profhilo uses 5 bio-aesthetic points (BAP) per side — the product spreads on its own. Rejuran involves more injection points spaced 1cm apart. You’ll feel small pricks and slight stinging. Each injection takes seconds.
Post-treatment calming
5 minA soothing serum and cold compress are applied to reduce redness and swelling at injection sites. The practitioner reviews aftercare. You’ll have small bumps at injection points that flatten within 12-24 hours.
Your first time
The setting is a clean medical clinic. After numbing cream sits for 15-20 minutes, the practitioner uses a very fine needle to make a series of small injections across your face. Each injection feels like a tiny pinch — brief and tolerable. For Profhilo, there are only about 10 injection points total. For Rejuran, there are more but they’re very quick. The whole injection process takes about 15 minutes. Afterward, you’ll have small bumps at each injection site (like tiny mosquito bites) that usually flatten within 12-24 hours. Mild bruising is possible for 2-3 days. The results aren’t instant — skin quality improves gradually over 2-4 weeks as collagen regenerates. After your second or third session, people start asking what you’re doing differently. It’s the most “no one can tell” treatment in aesthetics.
When to book
Book at least 5-7 days before an event to allow injection bumps and any bruising to resolve. For your initial series, plan 3 sessions spaced 3-4 weeks apart. After that, maintenance every 3-4 months. Best started in your late 20s to early 30s as preventive care. Avoid scheduling right before a beach vacation — SPF compliance is important while the product integrates.

East vs West
Rejuran Healer was developed in Korea and has been the country’s top aesthetic treatment for years — Western markets are only now catching on. Korean practitioners have years more experience with these products and treat far higher patient volumes. The price difference is dramatic: $200-400 in Korea vs $500-800+ in the West for the same product and technique. Korean clinics also offer more product options (Rejuran, Profhilo, Juvelook, Lenisna) while Western clinics may only carry one or two.
Aftercare
Don’t touch your face for 6 hours. No makeup for 12 hours. Avoid saunas, heavy exercise, and alcohol for 24 hours. Gentle cleanser and moisturizer only for 48 hours — no retinol, acids, or exfoliation. The tiny bumps will flatten within a day. SPF 50+ daily.
